What We Do
Oakmont Academic Knowledge is the non-profit arm that supports the Dropout Recovery public charter high schools managed by Oakmont Education. In addition to empowering young adults to help break the barriers of poverty through financial resources that help create opportunities for lifelong success. OAK also serves as a workforce intermediary by connecting employers with our CTE graduates by through the establishment of local and regional Workforce Advisory Committees. This sector strategy approach represents a new way to approach workforce development programs and shift away from "administration" to "collaboration" with businesses looking for new labor sources to meet growing worker shortages.
Services we provide
• Workforce Intermediary connecting businesses to our CTE programs in schools
• Coordinates local and regional Workforce Advisory Committee meetings
• Provide workforce grants to graduating seniors
• Operates a volunteer program for mentors in the schools
• Develop Workforce Experience opportunities - such as internships -
with local/regional businesses
• Provides emergency funding to students and families to improve post-secondary placement retention
• Expanding CTE pathways in schools through grant writing and hiring CTE staff for critical instruction
